With the full support of H.E. Thomas Cardinal Collins, Fr. Xavier De Pinto, pastor of Precious Blood Parish is proud to partner with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Toronto in implementing this important pilot project beginning this Fall.
The Horizons of Hope Program will help parishioners, caregivers, and family members facing a terminal illness learn more about palliative care. For those interested in coming together to understand the available resources regarding palliative care, we will work together to develop a caring community plan for each parish.
Those interested in participating, please note the upcoming four module program lead by Dr. Moira McQueen PhD, Sr. Mary Rowell, PhD and Shirley Christo, MHSc, MEd, Parish Nurse. The learning and discussions address themes such as understanding the dying process, discernment and decision-making at the end of life, accompaniment and the importance of building Compassionate Communities.
The four-module program will take place in the Precious Blood Parish Hall on the following dates;.
Module 1: Nov 9 2022 from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Module 2: Nov 16 2022 from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Module 3: Nov 23 2022 from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Module 4: Nov 30 2022 from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm
