Training is provided to new volunteers for each liturgical ministry, and an annual formation session is available to exisiting volunteers. Liturgical ministries include:
Altar Servers (boys and men who received their First Holy Communion) are invited to assist the priest during Mass. Please speak to a priest to sign up for the role.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest with the distribution of the Holy Communion during the Mass.
Lectors proclaim the Scripture readings at Mass during weekday and Sunday Masses.
Ministers of the Sick visit the ill, infirm or elderly parishioners who are unable to attend Mass, and bring the Eucharist to them.
Ministers of Hospitality (or Ushers) welcome all parishioners and visitors into the church and assist with seating. They also take up the collections, distribute bulletins, answer questions, and tidy up the church. They respond to any needs of parishioners that may arise during Mass.
The Choir coordinates all of the music and leads the people in song at Mass, other liturgical celebrations, and special Church events. Interested parishioners are invited to audition for the choir. St. Lawrence's has two choirs:
