Lay Apostolate & Service Ministries

St. Vincent de Paul Society

Members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (or "Vincentians") are men and women who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals in need.    They minister to the needy within our parish boundaries with emergency assistance by way of food and clothing thanks to the generous donations of our parishioners. Volunteers (in pairs) make visits to the homes of the clients, man the truck on bundle weekends in the Spring and Fall, hold the Poor Box after Mass and attend one meeting per month. New members are welcome.  Please contact the parish office at 416-759-9359 for more information.

Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus Council # 13417 has been serving the parish and the surrounding community since November 2003. Based on the founding principles of Charity, Unit and Fraternity,  the Knights provide services to our Church, Community, Council, Family and Youth. The Knights also promote a Culture of Life. The Knights of Columbus is the largest catholic organization in the world with approximately 1.9 million members in 72 jurisdictions. The Knights raise funds for charities and generously offer their talents and time to those in need.   Must be a practicing Catholic to be a member.  The Knights meet monthly on the 3rd Monday of the month. Please contact the Grand Knight at 416-456-7084.

Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary is one of the largest lay apostolic organizations in the Catholic Church, with well over 3 million active members in almost every country.  The main purpose of the Legion of Mary is to give glory to God through the sanctification of its members.  Members become instruments of the Holy Spirit through a balanced program of prayer and service. Works include door-to-door evangelization, parishioner visitation, visitation of the sick or aged, crowd contact, religious education, visiting the newly baptized, Pilgrim Virgin Statue rotations, and meeting the other spiritual needs of the parish community.  The Legion is, in essence, an extension of the heart and hands of the pastor.  For more information about the Legion of Mary, please contact the president at 416-283-8889.
